The VN9E30F is a high-performance device built using STMicroelectronics VIPower technology. It is designed to directly drive resistive or inductive loads connected to ground, offering robust protection against voltage transients. Control, programming, and diagnostics are facilitated through the SPI bus. Each channel is equipped with a digital current sense feedback, utilizing a 10-bit ADC with 0.1% accuracy. Trimming bits enable customization of the ADC reference current. The device features six outputs that can be controlled via SPI or assigned direct inputs. Open-load detection is supported even in OFF-state conditions.
Real-time diagnostics are accessible through the SPI bus, providing information on various conditions such as open-load, output short to VCC, overtemperature, communication error, power limitation, or latch-off situations. Output current limitation safeguards the device during overload scenarios, preventing excessive power dissipation. Thermal shutdown functionality can be configured as either latched-off or programmable time-limited auto-restart. In the event of a loss of digital supply, digital memory reset, or watchdog monitoring time-out, the device enters a limp home mode where each output remains either always OFF or follows the state of the assigned direct input pins.
