The LT3023 and LT3027 regulators manufactured by Analog Devices' are specifically designed for battery-powered systems, offering dual channels with low noise, low dropout, and micropower capabilities. By incorporating an external 0.01 µF bypass capacitor, the regulators achieve a remarkable reduction in output noise to just 20 µVRMS across a wide bandwidth of 10 Hz to 100 kHz. These regulators are optimized for battery-powered applications, featuring an exceptionally low quiescent current of only 20 µA/25 µA per channel. Moreover, during shutdown, the quiescent current further decreases to less than 0.1 µA. Each channel has independent shutdown control, providing flexibility in managing power consumption.
Operating within an input voltage range of 1.8 V to 20 V, the regulators are capable of delivering a maximum output current of 100 mA per channel, while maintaining a dropout voltage as low as 300 mV. Importantly, the quiescent current remains well controlled even during dropout conditions.
The LT3023 and LT3027 regulators exhibit stability with output capacitors as small as 1 µF, allowing for the use of small ceramic capacitors without the need for additional series resistance that is typically required by other regulators.
Additionally, these regulators incorporate internal protection circuitry, including reverse battery protection, current limiting, thermal limiting, and reverse current protection, ensuring robust operation and safeguarding against potential hazards. The device is available in an adjustable configuration with a 1.22 V reference voltage. Furthermore, the LT3023 and LT3027 regulators are offered in thermally enhanced 10-lead MSOP and DFN packages, providing both efficient heat dissipation and a compact form factor for easy integration into various battery-powered systems.
