Renesas' RX26T 32-bit RX motor control MCUs are designed to connect customers' applications with networking and sensors in the expanding IoT landscape. These MCUs offer built-in functions that reduce the need for external components, making them suitable for space-saving and miniaturized enclosures.
The RX26T series succeeds the RX24T/RX24U and features a 120 MHz operating frequency RXv3 core. It comes with up to 512 KB Flash ROM and 64 KB RAM, along with timers and analog functions that enable dual motor plus PFC control. Additionally, these MCUs are equipped with dual-bank functions, security functions (TSIP-Lite), and communication functions (MIPI I3C BasicSM/CAN FD) that support next-generation standards.
To meet the demand for high-efficiency control in multiple-motor and PFC software control, the RX26T MCUs offer enhanced processing performance compared to their predecessors. They support an improved operating frequency (80 MHz to 120 MHz), utilize Renesas' proprietary RXv3 core (721 CoreMark), provide 120 MHz no-wait access to Flash memory, and include an arithmetic unit for trigonometric functions (TFU).
In terms of motor control capabilities, the timer function supports 120 MHz PWM with three-phase complementary 2ch+ single-phase complementary 2ch. The analog function features three 12-bit A/D converters, including two 3-channel simultaneous sample-and-hold circuit units. This enables dual motor control using field-oriented control (FOC) with a three-shunt method and PFC control, which was not possible with the previous RX24T series.
