onsemi's FUSB307B is designed for system designers who want to implement up to four USB Type-C port controllers (TCPC) with USB-PD capabilities. This solution integrates Type-C and PD detection circuitry, allowing for manual attach/detach detection that meets the latest standards. The FUSB307B handles time-critical power delivery autonomously, relieving the microprocessor or Type-C port manager (TCPM) from this task. It complies with the USB-PD interface specification rev 1.0 as a TCPC, providing a standardized interface with TCPM.
The 4-port USB-PD source showcases onsemi's extensive range of USB-PD power solutions, including the FUSB307 PD port controller, the FUSB252 HV protection switch, and the NCP81231 buck controller. The universal 200 W AC/DC supply features the NCP1399 LLC controller, the NCP1615 PFC, and NCP4305 secondary SR controller, offering a highly efficient front-end solution. Each port supports up to 100 W, with a total maximum system power limit of 200 W using a first come first served power management algorithm. The Strata software provides robust controls for testing power profile configurations, experimenting with fault and foldback features, and monitoring system telemetry while charging different load devices. Additionally, design collateral such as schematics, PCB layout, and test reports are accessible through the Strata interface, streamlining the evaluation process.
