Niobium Oxide Capacitors

Niobium oxide capacitors are a type of electrolytic (polarized) capacitor that use niobium oxides as the anode and dielectric materials, along with a manganese oxide cathode system. These capacitors were developed as an alternative to tantalum capacitors in response to a tantalum shortage. Similar to tantalum capacitors, niobium oxide capacitors exhibit comparable characteristics in terms of capacitance, voltage ratings, and performance.
